All of these exercises are group works done in really short time (around 3h each) on selected game developpement aspects.

UX Design Exercise - Mario Kart

  1. Identify the player's motivations
  2. Identify the player type
  3. Link the motivations to the game mecanics
  4. Draft a new game with mandatory new motivations
  5. Create new mecanics and plot to use theses new motivations

UR Exercise - Hades 

  1. Identify possible player's choice
  2. Plot a testing protocol
  3. Observe tests sessions
  4. Reporting
  5. Crunch number
  6. Create gamer's profile
  7. Identify dominant strategy

Marketing Exercise - Astria Ascending

  1. Make a product analysis
  2. Do the 4P
  3. Identify strong and weak points
  4. Try to find solutions

Mission Design Exercise - Borderlands 2

  1. Chose a mission
  2. Identify the steps and possible failure points
  3. Chart them on a map
  4. Analyze how a mission document is made

Technical Art Exercise - Un lundi perpétuel

  1. Discover a new tech (here a shader)
  2. Experiment possibilities (this shader can "merge" objects)
  3. Use it to create gameplay mechanics
  4. Pitch a game around it in a one-page document
